Newspaper comic strips made their first appearance in American newspapers in the early part of the 20th century. The Yellow Kid, created by Richard Felton Outcault, is historically considered the first published strip in a U.S. newspaper. It is therefore appropriate to consider Mr. Outcault the Father of the American Comic Strip and as such, has paved the way for comic strip creators and artists such as myself.
